What we do
We’re So Much More Than a Shelter. View some of our services.

Inspectorate
Our Inspectorate department is the frontline in enforcing the Animals Protection Act No.71 of 1962 across the Randburg community. Our Inspectors are highly trained professionals who perform proactive inspections, rescue animals, investigate neglect, abuse and cruelty ensuring swift and effective action. On call 24/7 with unwavering commitment, they work tirelessly to uphold the Five Freedoms afforded to all animals and to enforce animal welfare laws. Their efforts not only save lives but also raise awareness, nuturing compassion and responsibility within the community.

Adoption Centre
Our adoption process is designed to ensure that each animal finds a loving and suitable home. Learn more about the benefits of adoption from Randburg SPCA and how you can welcome a new furbaby in to your family.

Community Outreach
Our Community Outreach programmes aim to promote and improve the welfare of animals, assisting in uplifting communities. We bring vital animal welfare services to areas where animals and the people who love them often have the least support. Working to improve the whole life of the animals in the community, giving animals healthier lives and giving families the tools to care with dignity.

Education Programmes
Education is key to preventing cruelty to animals. Our educational programs aim to raise awareness about animal welfare, the five freedoms afforded to all animals and responsible pet ownership. We offer a variety of programs tailored for schools, community groups, the general public, we also welcome schools to visit our facilities to learn first hand what our Society is about.

Sterilisations
Sterilisation is one of the most powerful tools in animal welfare. Every sterilisation prevents unwanted litters, reduces roaming, lowers disease risk and can improve the overall health of animals and communities.

Lost & Found
Reuniting families and their pets. If you’ve lost your pet or found an animal wandering, contact the Randburg SPCA immediately. As part of our service to the community, we manage the municipal pound for the Randburg District. This means all stray animals must be handed in to us and cannot legally be kept by the finder.

Charity Shops
Our Charity Shops are dedicated to raising funds for the care and protection of animals in need.
We accept donations such as clothes, household goods, furniture, electronics, pet supplies.. any unwanted items. So whether you are downsizing, or decluttering please think of us. Every purchase and donation helps us provide essential food, medical care, enrichment and a safe place for animals in our care.

Microchipping
Identification and traceability are important parts of responsible pet ownership. A microchip provides permanent identification for your pet and gives them the best chance of being reunited with you, should they happen to go missing.

Volunteer Programmes
Unfortunately, we do not have any volunteers opening at present.
We will hopefully introduce an animal enrichment program for volunteers towards the end of 2026 - keep an eye on our social media posting for news later this year.

Pet Cremation & Memorial Services
Losing a cherished pet is a profoundly emotional experience, and deciding on how to honour their memory requires careful consideration.
We offer respectful and affordable pet cremation and pet memorial products.

Tick & Flea Treatment
Protect you dog from ticks and fleas.
Flea & tick dips for dogs are a method of killing ticks and fleas with a liquid insecticide product poured on the dog’s fur and left on the skin to dry.
We have a dip bath available to the public where you can bring your dog for a dip.
